Syria live updates: The newly appointed Prime Minister of Syria engages with former government officials to facilitate the transition process.


  • Mohammed al-Bashir, designated as Syria's new prime minister until March 1, 2025, has engaged in discussions with members of the previous government to aid in the political transition.


  • Israeli military forces have conducted extensive operations throughout Syria, focusing on three airports and various key military installations, including those located in the capital city of Damascus.

  • Previously, Mohammad Ghazi al-Jalali, the prime minister under the ousted Syrian President Bashar al-Assad, consented to transfer authority to the opposition-led Syrian Salvation Government, which is led by al-Bashir.


  • The family of prominent Syrian activist Mazen al-Hamada has confirmed that his remains have been located at the infamous Sednaya Prison, following the conclusion of rescue teams' efforts to locate missing individuals at the site.
